WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO: THE NEEDS & WISHES MISSION

Founded in 2019, Needs & Wishes is a non-profit organization that exists:

To provide short-term assistance to a person in temporary financial crisis and who is ineligible for most types of conventional social assistance.To do everything in our power to stop at-risk households from slipping into the cycle of poverty from an unanticipated expense such as hospitalization; and to promote compassion, concern and generosity in our communities.

In keeping with our mission:

  • Our program is designed to help people who have tried every avenue and have nowhere else to turn to for assistance. Those people who work hard and do not qualify for social assistance from conventional methods and are one step away from a financial crisis.
  • We are unable to give cash to applicants and only make payments directly to the creditor listed in the application, if approved. This system allows for an open and transparent process for the donors who provide funds to Needs & Wishes.
  • Needs & Wishes does not charge a fee to any applicant.
